'Padmavati' shooting cancelled in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Mar 17 (UNI) Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his crew have cancelled the shooting of 'Padmavati' here, in the wake of vandalism incident, on March 15.
Some unidentified youths entered the area, where the shooting of 'Padmavati' was in progress at the unmanned Masai Pathar and set on fire a film set, tents, where material of shooting and clothes were stocked.
In this incident, all materials and dresses were reduced to ashes, on the morning of March 15.
According to Chetan Devlekar, working producer of the movie, who claimed that about 700-800 historical costumes, war material including swords, spears, shields and other shooting material, along with a set and tents, had been reduced to ashes.
The damage is about Rs 3-crore, he said.
'We have decided to temporarily pack-up this morning and started to shift all shooting material, including horses and camels from the location of Masai Pathar this morning and would take the decision, within two days.
' Meanwhile, a complaint has been registered against unknown youths under the Explosion Act (1908) Sections 4, 5, 6 and IPC Sections 147, 148, 149, 436, 324 and 284, he said.
District Superintendent of Police Mahadev Tambade said there was no clue received, so far.
But, soon the culrpits would be put behind the bars, he added.
Meanwhile, Mumbai-based Rajasthani Karani Sena has taken a responsibility of attack and alleged that Mr Bhansali has included the wrong history of Padmavati in the film and they would oppose for shooting in every places, where it would be held in future.
