Maha: Akola court awards death sentence to man in double murder case

Akola, Sep 22 (UNI): In a significant verdict, the Akola District and Sessions Court today sentenced a man to death for the brutal murder of his estranged wife and nine-year-old daughter in a case that shocked the city. The judgment was delivered by District and Sessions Judge Tejwantsingh Sandhu. The convict, Manish Kisanrao Mhatre (35), a resident of Deshmukh Fail area in Akola, was found guilty of killing his wife Rashmi Mhatre (30) and daughter Mahi Mhatre (9) with an axe on April 24, 2024.
