Vice President CP Radhakrishnan urges citizens to conserve water, inaugurates 9th IIWW 2026

New Delhi, Sept 22 (UNI) Calling for water conservation as a collective public responsibility, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Tuesday appealed to people to adopt water saving habits in day-to-day life as a mass movement to conserve the country's fresh water resources. Inaugurating the five-day 9th India International Water Week (IIWW) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam here, the VP highlighted India's challenge of limited resources as it has 18 per cent population of the world with only 4 per cent fresh water availability.
