Hyd: Credibility of institutions crucial to combating corruption: Yashovardhan Jha Azad

Hyderabad, Sept 22 (UNI) The credibility of institutions entrusted with enforcing anti-corruption laws is crucial to the effectiveness of India's fight against corruption, former Central Information Commissioner Yashovardhan Jha Azad said on Tuesday. Delivering the 7th Prof S Venugopal Rao Memorial Oration on "How India Fights Corruption - The Institutional Credibility Test" at the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, Azad said India had developed a substantial legal and institutional framework to combat corruption, but its effectiveness depended on the credibility of the institutions implementing it.
