IMD warns of extremely heavy rain in Odisha as Bay system set to intensify into deep depression

Panchkula, Sep 20 (UNI) A low-pressure area over the north Andaman Sea and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a depression on September 21 and further into a deep depression a day later, triggering extremely heavy rainfall over Odisha and very heavy rain across several parts of central and southern India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday. In its morning weather bulletin issued at 8.38 a.m., the IMD said the system was located over the north Andaman Sea and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal at 5.30 a.m. on September 20.
