Punjab seeks 5.5 lakh tonnes DAP, 15 lakh tonnes urea from Centre for Rabi season

Chandigarh, Sep 29 (UNI) Punjab on Tuesday urged the Centre to ensure timely supply of 5.5 lakh tonnes of diammonium phosphate (DAP) and 15 lakh tonnes of urea for the 2026-27 Rabi season, saying delays in fertiliser supplies in previous years had caused difficulties for farmers. Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian raised the demand at the National Conference on Agriculture for Rabi Season 2026 in New Delhi, according to an official statement.
