NIT Rourkela-designed chip showcased to PM Modi at SEMICON India

Bhubaneswar, Sep 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today received a security chip designed by a PhD scholar of NIT Rourkela at SEMICON India 2026 here, highlighting the institute's contribution to India's semiconductor efforts. The chip was presented as part of an emblem featuring contributions from 20 institutions. Modi interacted with the student designers and appreciated NIT Rourkela's work, union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said.
