Tension continues in Tripura's Udaipur following violence during VC election

Agartala, Sept 29 (UNI) Tensions have continued to escalate in Udaipur of Tripura's Gomati district following an outbreak of violence in the Gamaria area during the Village Committee election under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) on Monday. The trouble began after a TIPRA Motha candidate was shot. During efforts to calm the situation, Gomati SP Anirban Das was injured, and the vehicle of the Udaipur SDPO was damaged, allegedly by angry Motha supporters.
