New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Women entrepreneurs from India, Finland, Italy, Russia and Cambodia shared their experiences of success and obstacles faced, in a session during the first ever International small-to-medium enterprise (SME) Convention being held from April 22 to 24.
A special session was devoted to “Women Entrepreneurs ---Sustainable Livelihoods to Successful Business” and was chaired by Ram Mohan Mishra, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
SME delegates from 37 countries including Australia, Austria, France, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sri Lanka, South Africa and UAE are participating in the Convention.
The delegates represent small and medium enterprises of their countries in different sectors including agriculture, healthcare, strategic defence training, education, logistics, digital entertainment and waste management.
The Development Commissioner said the MSME ministry is in the process of drafting strategies for encouraging women to set up their own businesses.
Underlining the importance of women in entrepreneurship, Ms. Anuradha Sahu of Auro Arts said that women were the baseline of the pyramid of success. Another speaker Priyanka Mokshmar said that awareness about various schemes of the ministry of MSME was important for setting up a successful enterprise, according to an official statement on Tuesday.
