WFI harassment case: Delhi court reserves order on Brij Bhushan's application

WFI harassment case: Delhi court reserves order on Brij Bhushan's application

New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) A Delhi court on Thursday reserved its order for April 26 on an application from former Wrestling Federation of India Chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh seeking further probe in the matter related to the alleged sexual harassment case lodge against him, .
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Priyanka Rajpoot after hearing said, "Put up for clarification, if any/orders on the said application on 26.04.2024 at 2 PM."
Counsel for Singh after moving application submitted that Singh was not in the country on the date when the offence of harrassment is alleged.
The counsel contended that the Delhi Police has not placed on record call detail records (CDR). The police had relied upon the CDR of the coach who had accompanied the complainant and stated that they had gone to WFI on September 7, 2022, where she was allegedly molested.
He said, "If I am not there when the offence is being alleged against me, my plea of alibi will come in. So I am seeking direction to Delhi Police to investigate the issue".
The government counsel opposed the application by submitting that the present application has been filed just a delay tactic being used by the defence.
In this matter after investigation police had filed a charge sheet against Singh under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). UNI XC SSP
