Vibrant Goa will attract world business to Goa: Goyal

Panaji, Oct 19 (UNI) Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Saturday said Vibrant Goa venture has truly become successful advent to attract the people from all around the world to do business in Goa.
Addressing valedictory Session of Vibrant Goa Global Expo and Summit 2019 held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium , Taleigao, near the city, he said the initiative will attribute towards making the state finest destination for investment.
"Goa is very much rich with the environment and infrastructure required for prosperity of business thus making things most profitable for Goans and national economy too," he added.
Mr Goyal appreciated the progress of IT and Pharma Sector in the State and congratulated Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for organising Vibrant Goa Summit and providing the platform for investors across the World to look forward for opportunities of various investments in State.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said State Government was very keen in promoting new business avenues which would boost the economy on sustainable mode.
He informed that around 17 MOUs had been signed promoting and facilitating various business ventures in the State during the Summit which commenced on October 17, 2019.
Dy Chief Minister Manohar Azgaonkar in his speech lauded the efforts taken by organisers of Vibrant Goa, to make the event a success.
Vice Chancellor of Goa University Professor Varun Sahni spoke on the occasion.
Dy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar, Minister for Information and Technology Jennifer Monseratte, Chairman of Vibrant Goa foundation Nitin Kuncalienkar, President of Vibrant Goa Rajkumar Kamat, Chief Mentor of Vibrant Goa Dr Jagat Shah and others were present on the occasion.
Prior to the concluding function Session of India Today on ``State of states`` was held at Vibrant Goa Summit, wherein awards were presented to progressive talukas of the State by India today for making remarkable efforts towards improvement of Health, Education, Public utilities and infrastructure. Awards were presented by the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant
Award for Best Taluka was awarded to Bardez Taluka. Best Utilities award was shared by Bardez and Tiswadi Taluka. For water and Sanitation Mormugao Taluka won the award. Canacona Taluka received award for Agricultural activities. For Industrial Growth Salcete, Industries Department ,North Goa and South Goa districts were awards for remarkable work done in infrastructure, Health, Education and Communication sector.
