Restrictions lifted in downtown Srinagar

Srinagar, Jul 14 (UNI) Restrictions, imposed in the downtown, Srinagar on Friday, to prevent people from marching towards Naqashband Sahib shrine following call by separatist to pay tributes to martyrs of 1931, have been lifted.
Advisor to Governor K Vijay Kumar, Director General of Police S P Vaid, former Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah besides leaders of different mainstream political parties paid floral tributes to martyrs yesterday. Separatists and other people were barred from going to graveyard to pay tributes to martyrs.
Additional security forces deployed to strictly implement restrictions under Section 144 CrPC were withdrawn. Barbed wire and other road blocks on all roads leading to martyrs graveyard have also been removed.
