Pulse Polio drive to include all refugees and IDPs in Mizoram

Aizawl, Mar 5 (UNI) All refugees from Myanmar and Bangladesh, along with internally displaced people (IDPs) from Manipur seeking refuge in Mizoram, will be included in the intensified pulse polio immunisation campaign launched in the state, said a senior health department official.
Dr. Lalmuanawma Jongte, the State Immunisation Officer, disclosed that over 1.1 lakh children below the age of 5 years are targeted to receive coverage in the intensified pulse polio immunization across 11 districts of Mizoram.
The campaign commenced on Tuesday with the establishment of booths at healthcare facilities statewide. Additionally, health officials will conduct door-to-door visits in their respective areas to ensure that all eligible children receive polio immunization.
