Member of Sangli children reformatory arrested for offering bribe to child development officer

Sangli, Dec 13 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Kolhapur division on Thursday arrested founder-member of a child reformatory at Pare village in Khanapur tehsil of the district for allegedly trying to give a bribe of Rs 1.96 lakh to an officer of the district's Women & Child Development department for not taking action against misappropriation disclosed in the reformatory and for sending a positive report to the Maharashtra government.
Acting on a complaint of irregularity, district WCD officer Suvrna Pawar raided Rajwardhan Patil child reformatory and found that the owner had showed bogus number of the children in the institution to take government grants.
Following the raid, Ms Pawar had registered a case of misappropriation against owner, a press note issued by ACB said.
