Maoist strike affects life in Manipur

Imphal, Dec 17 (UNI) A 16-hour-general strike imposed by Maoist Communist Party, Manipur (MCPM), since last midnight affected life here today.
Two vehicles were found damaged by unknown persons suspected to be strike supporters in two separate incidents one at Thoubal district and another at Kakwa.
The government asked all employees to attend offices and directed shops to remain opened. However, most of the shops remained closed. Educational institutes also remained closed. Roads remained deserted as people remained indoors.
