Manipur CAF Minister says local rice may be procured for distribution under NFSA

Imphal, June 20 (UNI) Manipur Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Minister Leishangthem Susindro Meitei said that the procurement of the paddy locally produced in Manipur is the first step taken up by the N. Biren Singh-led government for the welfare of the farmers.
FCI officials have come for a survey for the procurement process to prepare the distribution of rice under NFSA, he added.
He chaired a public meeting on the procurement of locally produced Paddy (Phou) by farmers of Manipur for distribution under the National Food Security Act (NFSA here on Monday.
