Karnataka BJP leaders laud Advani's role in Ram Janmabhoomi Movement

Bengaluru, Feb 3 (UNI) After former Deputy Prime Minister LK Adani was conferred with Bharat Ratna, Karnataka BJP leaders showered encomiums by recalling his achievements, especially the Ramjanmabhoomi Rath Yatra led by him, which changed the country's politics forever.
Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa said, "I would like to congratulate the great visionary leader, Lal Krishna Advani for this achievement. People across the nation are happy about this announcement. It (Bharat Ratna) is one of the highest awards..."
"Due to Advani ji's initiative, we can see Pran Prathistha of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya," he said.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said people across the nation are happy. "I am happy that today his name has been announced for this award. All the party workers are happy. I want to congratulate PM Modi also for this decision," he said.
Karnataka former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said Advani is the most deserving leader and chose India during the partition.
Ex-CM said Advani started his political career with Jana Sangh and supported Syama Prasad Mookerjee in the Kashmir issue.
As a Home Minister, he brought great discipline into the internal security matters, Bommai said. "He led the 'Ram Janmbhoomi' movement and now the temple has come up. I think he is the one who should be credited most for this," he said.
Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka Assembly R Ashoka said, "Today I am happy that LK Advani has been conferred with Bharat Ratna and I welcome the decision of the Central Government ... I thank the government and PM Modi for this decision..." he said.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said Advani's contribution is very big for the Ram temple and is a role model to the country due to his clean image in politics.
"No one has traveled our country as much as him, he conducted the highest number of Rath Yatras," he said.
Advani is a person who perfectly and systematically organised parliamentary practice and an example of a crystal clear public personality, Joshi said.
"Such a person being conferred with Bharat Ratna is the happiest moment for me," he said.
BJP leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda said it is a wonderful moment for all Indians. "The man who fought for Ram Mandir...I pray to god for the good health of LK Advani...," he said.
Former Union Minister and Congress leader Veerappa Moily said Advani has been a great leader and is also responsible for forming an important party like the BJP. "He has done everything to strengthen democracy. He rightly deserves it," he said.
