Tehran, Dec 29 (UNI) Four people accused of cooperation with Israel's Mossad intelligence service have been executed in Iran, news agency Fars reported on Friday morning.
Six other defendants in the case have been sentenced to 10 years in prison, the Iranian news outlet said.
Nasser Atabati, chief justice of Iran’s West Azerbaijan province, was cited as saying that the accused were detained on October 24 for identifying Iranian intelligence employees and collecting information via kidnapping, threatening and beating reconnaissance staff. The detainees conducted the operations in Tehran, and the provinces of Hormozgan and West Azerbaijan and set fire to vehicles and property of the Iranian intelligence workers, the report said, adding that a botched assassination attempt took place on one of the employees.
