New Delhi/Islamabad, Mar 20 (UNI) Close on the heels of Pakistan registering a 'protest' on Samjhauta Express Blast verdict, the government source said here on Wednesday the due process of law was 'followed' in the case by the Indian Courts and judicial system in a "transparent manner".
In reference to summoning of Indian envoy Ajay Bisaria by Pakistan foreign office in Islamabad, the source said - Indian High Commissioner rejected Pakistan assertions.
"He highlighted the due process of law was followed by the Indian Courts and judicial system in a transparent manner. High Commissioner Bisaria called out the lack of cooperation from Pakistan Government including in serving Court summons to Pakistan witnesses in the case," the source said.
These summons were 'returned' by Pakistan foreign office and "not served".
"It was also pointed out that Pakistan is yet to take credible and irreversible steps against JEM other terror entities and individuals, despite a detailed dossier having been shared after Pulwama attack," the source said.
The High Commissioner asked for expeditious trial in 26/11 Mumbai terror attack in which detailed evidence has been given to Pakistan.
"He (Indian High Commissioner) expressed disappointment that progress in these trials is held up and the perpetrators and prime accused continue to roam freely in Pakistan. The Indian envoy also shared India's concerns at the lack of progress in investigations in Pathankot airbase terror attack even when Joint Investigation Team visit was arranged to India and detailed evidence shared," the source said.
Hours after a special court acquitted Swami Aseemanand and three others in the Samjhauta Express Blast case , Pakistan Foreign Ministry on Wednesday summoned the Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria in Islamabad to register 'protest'.
The Acting Foreign Secretary summoned the Indian High Commissioner to lodge Pakistan’s protest against the acquittal of all four accused, including Swami Aseemanand in the explosion in 2007, the Pakistan Foreign office said in Islamabad.
According to NIA counsel Rajan Malhotra, all the four accused Swami Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Kamal Chauhan and Rajinder Chaudhary have been acquitted by the court in Panchkula.
