New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday said that India was always ready to support the socio-economic development of Maldives.
He said this when Foreign Affairs Minister of Maldives Abdulla Shahid called on him at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here.
The President observed that India and Maldives enjoyed a uniquely special, close and friendly relationship.
Noting that the government of Maldives had launched a 100-day Action Plan that is aimed at transforming the lives of its peoples, he said that India will work in alignment with that government’s identified priorities.
``The Indian government’s vision of inclusive development also extends to its neighbourhood including Maldives,’’ he added.
