Leeds, July 17 (UNI) India scored 256 for eight wickets after the end of first innings against England at the Headingley Cricket Ground, Leeds on Tuesday.
The three-match series is level at 1-1 after England won the second game by 86 runs at Lord's on Saturday.
England bowlers Adil Rashid and David Willey took three wickets each, while India captain Virat Kohli posted 71, as earlier England won the toss and decided to bowl first.
India scored 32-1 from 10 overs with Kohli and opener Shikhar Dhawan increasing the scoring rate as India took 68 from the next 10 overs.
Dhawan was run out for 44 by a brilliant piece of fielding from Ben Stokes and India lost wickets at regular intervals.
