Governor Acharya hands over books to students

Imphal, Jul 13 (UNI) Manipur Governor P B Acharya today distributed books to Sainik School, Pangei and Kalyan Ashram, Imphal East in a function held at Raj Bhawan here.
He also announced that more government schools will be provided with library books. He also distributed certificates to students and teachers from four districts, namely, Imphal West, Imphal East, Churachandpur and Ukhrul who participated in a computer workshop.
A three day computer workshop for school students and teachers, was organized by Upanagar Shikshan Mandal, Mumbai sponsored by Saraswat Bank, Mumbai and Directorate of Education (Schools), Manipur at Raj Bhavan, Banquet Hall.

French Ambassador praises Mawphlang heritage village in Meghalaya

Shillong, May 10 (UNI) The Ambassador of France to India, Thierry Mathou in his maiden visit to Meghalaya, visited sacred groves, monoliths, and heritage village of Mawphlang, near Meghalaya’s capital in the East Khasi Hills district on Friday.
The Ambassador trekked for more than 3 kms and visited Mawphlang Sacred Grove in its entirety, where he was guided by the head of Lyngdoh clan of Hima Mawphlang, Tambor Lyngdoh Mawphlang.
