Finland, Sweden to sign protocol on NATO accession on July 5: Stoltenberg

Brussels, June 30 (UNI/Sputnik) The protocol on Finland and Sweden's accession to NATO will be signed on July 5 with the participation of foreign ministers of the two countries, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday.
"The political decision, the real decision to invite Finland and Sweden to join NATO was taken at the summit Wednesday. So that decision has been taken and then we will do the formal signing of the accession protocol on Tuesday [July 5] in the presence of Swedish and Finnish foreign ministers," Stoltenberg said after the alliance's summit in Madrid.
