Treat the seed with Carbendazim/ Bavistin at 2gm per kg of seed. After sowing cover the bed with the net to protect from birds”.
Kiran Bhowmik, a researcher of Tripura University, doing research on agricultural sector under supervision of Dr. Subhrabaran Das has said, “Tripura has an agriculture-based economy. Shortage of cultivable land is the main obstacle in the agriculture sector of the State. Two-third of the total geographical area of the State is hilly. A good number of farmers still have to depend on nature for agricultural activities in Tripura”.
The report of agriculture department published by the government of Tripura has revealed that a major part of the state has counted as reserved forests and only 24 per cent of the total area is cultivable, whereas the national average is 43.
