Hubballi, May 16(UNI) The Congress party, which had insulted former Karnataka Chief Minister Veerendra Patil by unceremoniously removing from the post, had lost morale to seek Veerashaiva Lingayath votes in the byelection to Kundagol and Chincholi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President B S Yeddyurappa said here today.
Addressing newsmen here on Thursday, he said “Congress is yet to come out with the reason for removing Patil from the Chief Minister post."
“Congress leaders have no moral right to seek votes from the people belonging to the Veerashaiva Lingayat community. The Congress leaders are making futile exercise to woo the voters belonging to Veerashaiva”, the BJP leader added.
