Congress has no morale to seek Veerashaiva Lingayath votes: Yeddyurappa

Congress has no morale to seek Veerashaiva Lingayath votes: Yeddyurappa

Hubballi, May 16(UNI) The Congress party, which had insulted former Karnataka Chief Minister Veerendra Patil by unceremoniously removing from the post, had lost morale to seek Veerashaiva Lingayath votes in the byelection to Kundagol and Chincholi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President B S Yeddyurappa said here today.

Addressing newsmen here on Thursday, he said “Congress is yet to come out with the reason for removing Patil from the Chief Minister post."

“Congress leaders have no moral right to seek votes from the people belonging to the Veerashaiva Lingayat community. The Congress leaders are making futile exercise to woo the voters belonging to Veerashaiva”, the BJP leader added.

Accusing that the Congress which is in desperate mood, is spending crores of rupees in both the Assembly byelection, the BJP leader claimed that “Party will wrests both the seats from Congress in Kundagol and Chincholi”.

Reiterating his claim that BJP will bounce back to power in Karnataka after the Lok Sabha election, he said that “Congress-JD(S) coalition government will collapse immediately after the results for the Lok Sabha elections are out”.
