BJP holds massive protest outside K'taka assembly over Jain muni murder case

Bengaluru, July 12 (UNI) The BJP on Wednesday held a massive protest near Gandhi statue outside Karnataka assembly, and marched to Raj Bhavan to petition Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot over the ghastly murder of Jain monk Acharya Sri Kamakumara Nandi Maharaj and seeking a CBI enquiry into the case.
Addressing the protesting BJP workers, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated and investigation into Jain muni's murder is dissatisfactory.
He said the Congress government is doing politics and doesn't want a CBI probe into the matter. "Nobody is safe in Karnataka, whether it is a techie or a common man," he stated.
Bommai said after the Congress party assumed power another round of murders of Hindu personalities began and the brutal murder of the Janin monk is a stark example.
"There is a tremendous law and order deterioration in Karnataka. We are unhappy with the probe being conducted into the Jain muni murder. The Karnataja government is thick-skinned. They do not want a CBI probe," he said.
The opposition party has demanded a CBI probe into the case. The Jain muni was murdered in Belagavi district and his body was found in pieces at a defunct borewell.
The police have arrested two people - Narayana Basappa Mali and Hassan Saba Maqbool Dalayath - in the case. They suspect financial reasons for the murder.
