All four accused in  Hyderabad Vet rape & Murder case killed in police encounter

Hyderabad, Dec 6 (UNI) All the four accused in the gruesome gang-rape and murder case of a 26-year-old woman Veterinarian Disha (name changed) were killed in an encounter with police at Chatanpally in Shadnagar here early on Friday.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar while confirming the encounter said it happened between 0300 hours and 0600 hours.
Police sources said the accused tried to flee when they were taken to Chatnapally where the charred body of Disha was found, to reconstruct the scene of the crime.
The sources said the accused hurled stones on police and reportedly snatched the weapons from the police and started firing on the them. In the self-defence, police shot dead all the four accused--Mohammed Areef, Jollu Shiva, Naveen, Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu.
The encounter took place close to the spot where the accused allegedly torched the body of Disha after raping her.
Top Senior police officials were at the encounter spot.
The gruesome gangrape and murder case had sparked nation-wide protests as the people came out to the streets to demand justice for the rape victim.
On November 28, the men, lorry drivers and cleaners, saw the woman park her scooter near a toll-booth. They allegedly punctured a tyre of the scooter and waited the return of Disha.
When she returned, they pretended to help her, forcibly taken her and gang-raped at a deserted spot, strangled her and burnt her body to destroy evidence, according to police.
Talking to the media, the father of the Hyderabad veterinary doctor expressed gratefulness towards the Hyderabad police for shooting the accused in the rape and murder case.
"Nine days have passed and today my daughter has been put to peace," the father of the lady doctor said as he commented on the development.
The Telangana government on Wednesday issued orders to set up fast track court for expeditious trial in the case
The government designated the court of first additional district and sessions judge in Mahabubnagar district as special court for speedy trail of the case.
