Accolades for Yoodlee Films' ‘Noblemen’ at New York Indian Film Festival

Accolades for Yoodlee Films' ‘Noblemen’ at New York Indian Film Festival

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) Yoodlee Films’ upcoming film ‘Noblemen’ which recently premiered at the New York Indian Film Festival, was met with a warm response from critics and viewers alike.

Besides being appreciated for its storyline and performances, child actor Ali Haji who is part of the film's star cast received the ‘Best Child Actor’ Award for his stellar performance in the film.

Ali Haji, whose previous screen outings include working alongside Aamir Khan and Kajol in ‘Fanaa’ and with Govinda in ‘Partner’, has recently been signed to play an important character in the upcoming Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Super 30’.

The film which is inspired by the Shakespeare’s play, ‘Merchant of Venice’ talks about the struggles of adolescent years and deals with the pertinent theme of bullying rampant in high schools.

Kunal Kapoor essays the role of a charismatic drama teacher in a prestigious boarding school, who uses unique and unconventional ways of teaching theatre to his students.

The young actor Ali Haji is the central character Shray, who is chosen to play the lead character of Bassanio in Merchant of Venice, much to the dismay of his seniors who also want the coveted part, and thereby unleashing a chain of incidents that have far reaching repercussions.

Director Vandana Kataria said, “Its really heartwarming to see our film being appreciated and Ali Haji winning the best child actor award at the New York Indian Film Festival.

'Noblemen' is a sincere attempt at highlighting bullying and its effects which is both widespread and severely debilitating. Set in an all boys’ boarding school, it mirrors the society’s current authoritarian drift.”

Siddharth Anand Kumar , VP – Films and TV Sargama said, “We are thrilled with the news that Ali Haji won the Best Child Actor Award in the New York Indian Film Festival.

Noblemen is a striking piece of work – gripping and sensitive in equal measure, and gives a strong voice to the social malady of bullying."

Noblemen directed by Vandana Kataria and starring Kunal Kapoor, Ali Haji, Mohammad Ali Mir, Muskaan Jaferi and Shaan Grover is slated for a mid-2018 release.

The film is produced by Yoodlee Films who have championed the cause of fearless filmmaking.

Yoodlee Films has stuck to its promise of producing and releasing content-driven films, be it the critically acclaimed 'Ajji' and 'Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz' earlier this year.

They will be following it up with soon-to-be-released bold dramatic thriller 'AscharyaF**kIt', and a heartfelt emotional drama set in Kashmir – ‘Hamid’, among others.
