AAP govt approves installation of CCTV cameras in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) The AAP government on Friday approved the proposal for installation of CCTV cameras in Delhi.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
According to a Government statement, the Delhi Cabinet approved the Public Works Department (PWD) proposal for granting administrative approval and Expenditure Sanction for installation of CCTV Cameras in Delhi, as recommended by the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC).
The PWD proposal requested the Council of Ministers to kindly approve the EFC recommendations and accord administrative approval & Expenditure Sanction for Project of supplying, installation, testing and commissioning of CCTV cameras and other allied infrastructure at an estimated cost of Rs 571.40 crore.

The PWD proposal is in furtherance of the government commitment to install CCTV cameras in public places in Delhi to ensure safety of women, children and other citizens.
Earlier in the day Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal apprised the Delhi Assembly that the Cabinet has approved the proposal of installation of CCTV cameras in Delhi
