YBA protests anti-Bru settlement agitation in Tripura

Agartala, Jun 5 (UNI) The Young Bru Association (YBA) of Tripura has condemned the aggressive protest of Mizo Convention against the government initiative to rehabilitate displaced Brus of Mizoram in Jampui hill and surroundings of North Tripura.
The YBA president Santosh Kr Reang claimed, "The Bru people have been suffering here in camps for the last 23 years and living as refugees in deprivation and persecution. These people are originally from Tripura but in the present time they are identified as "displaced" and struggling for the sympathy of the state government for resettlement."
He argued that Brus as citizen of India have the right to permanent settlement in Tripura, as they were originally from this land.
