Ara, Nov 21 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that a number of sincere steps had been taken by his government to improve further law and order situation in the state and task of maintaining law and order and investigation of the cases had been separated in 95 per cent of police stations to effectively deal with criminal elements and ensure their convictions.
Mr Kumar while inaugurating a function to mark the centenary year of Mounted Military Police in Ara, said that despite changes in nature of crime and new challenges being faced by police to deal with criminal elements, the role of Mounted Military Police was still relevant.
In difficult terrain, the role of Mounted Police was all the more important in maintaining law and order, he remarked.
