Woman dupes housewives pretending as Godwoman in Kerala

Kochi, Jun 26 (UNI) A woman who introduced herself as 'Amma' and her assistant cheated many housewives convincing them with a miracle in their life, police sources said on Friday.
The accused looted Rs 40 lakh and gold from the women who visited them seeking solution to their problems
The sources further said that a woman pledged her house and handed over Rs 10 lakh to the accused.
After receiving the amount, the woman who pretended as a miracle worker or godwoman gave an idol convincing the woman that it is made of 50 sovereign gold. But the woman later found that the idol was fake.
Another woman got trapped by the gang as she was worried about her differently-abled son. The gang looted over 27 sovereign gold and Rs five lakh from the woman.
Apart from women, many men also got trapped by the gang, they added.
