New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) After the launch of Lucky Grahak Yojana and Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana, 120 consumers have won prize money worth Rs one lakh and the Government wants them to be the brand ambassador of digital payments. Addressing the mediapersons here, NITI Aayog CEO Amitab Kant said, “Among the 9.8 lakh winners, more than 9.2 lakh consumers, 56,000 merchants and 120 consumers have won the prize money worth Rs one lakh each. We want them to be the digital payments’ brand ambassador and will motivate them to enroll 1000-2000 more citizens on digital platform.” After 58 days of launch of these incentive schemes, the country has witnessed a significant rise in citizens embracing digital payments, reaching numbers at nearly 10-lakh with a disbursal amount of Rs 153.5-crore. In the days to come, Mr Kant said the NITI Aayog will come up with more cash-back scheme to encourage digital payments. He added that the BHIM app had made a world record by having in total of 17 million downloads so far. Besides, he also mentioned that in December and January, the app saw a rise of over 4,160 per cent in its transactions made. UNI ASH SNU 1418
