Flowing between the borders of Marathwada and Vidarbha regions, a swollen Painganga river has submerged thousands of hectares of agricultural land.
The communication between Himayatnagar and other areas of this district has been cut off as the water is flowing at eight feet level as measured on the Gangegaon bridge.
Owing to heavy monsoon this year, the 112 water storage bodies are filled up to cumulative 562.24 TMC(Thousand Million Cubic feet) or 75.35 per cent of their total capacities.
