New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Sunday said that in view of the Olympics of 2024 and 2028, the Sports Ministry has set a target to reach 3 crore children, of which 1,000 talented children will be selected.
"In a view of Olympics 2024 and 2028, we aim to reach 3 crore million children of 8 to 12 years, of which 20 thousand, Five thousand and one thousand talented children will be selected. These thousand children will be given scholarships of five lakh rupees every year for the next 10 years," said Rathore at a cash award ceremony organised for the Indian Olympic Association's Asiad medal winners here.
'Our aim is to prepare these children for 2024 and 2028 Olympics so that they can present India at international level', he added.
