New Delhi, Jul 5 (UNI) Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday called upon all Indians to adopt the Prime Minister's 'Atma Nirbhar' campaign and chase the dream of transforming "Local" India into a "Glocal' India by using resources wisely and strategically.
Speaking after launching virtually an indigenously-developed social media super app- Elyments by Art of Living foundation, the Vice President said the country was passing through a crucial moment in history when it was "faced with a number of internal and external challenges".
"But we should remain resolute in our response to the challenges thrown at us. The Prime Minister has given a call for 'Atma nirbhar Bharat'- a self-reliant India. It is a mission to galvanise the forces of growth across the country in various sectors of the economy," he said.
The campaign was aimed at giving a new boost, a quantum jump to the economic potential of the country by strengthening infrastructure, using modern technologies, enriching human resource, and creating robust supply chains, he pointed out.
India, he further said, was an IT powerhouse and had some of the world’s best-known names in this field. With such a huge pool of talented professionals, he felt there should be many more such innovations coming out in future.
Referring to the app, he stated that he was happy to note that more than 1,000 IT professionals, who were volunteers of the Art of Living, had together created the indigenous app named Elyments. The app will be available in eight Indian languages would provide alternatives for various foreign apps.
"New India needs vibrant young thinkers who are willing to experiment and explore. We should innovate not just imitate. Innovation is the watchword for 21st Century. We have all the ingredients for success. We need to just connect the dots and create synergies of action," he added.
