Violence has no place in democracy: Gegong Apang

Itanagar, May 21 (UNI) Reacting to the brutal killing of National People’s Party (NPP) MLA Tirong Aboh and 10 others in an ambush, former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister and North East (NE) in-charge of Janata Dal (Secular) Gegong Apang on Tuesday said that violence has no place in ‘’democracy’’.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Apang said, “Violence has no place in democracy. The killing of Arunachal lawmaker , Tirong Aboh and his family members is most unfortunate. My heartfelt condolences for his family and the near and dear ones.”
Eleven persons including the NPP MLA and his son were killed in an ambush by underground militants on Tuesday afternoon at 12 Mile , twenty kilometres before Khonsa under Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
