Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 6 (UNI) The Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau began a probe against Kerala Health Minister K K Shylaja who allegedly claimed medical bills using fake documents.
The probe was followed by a complaint from State BJP General Secretary K Surendran, who alleged that the Minister reimbursed medical bills, wrongly claiming her husband – a retired government servant – as her dependent.
The BJP leader alleged that the Minister purchased a pair of spectacles for Rs 28,000 and then reimbursed the cost from the government exchequer and added that the Minister violated the oath of office and committed a crime.
Pointing out that the Minister had avoided high standard public health system available in the State, he said she had opted a private hospital and reimbursed huge amount.
