Vice-President of India awards Champion of Change to Dr. Kuldip Maity, MD & CEO, Village Financial Services (VFS)

Kolkata, Dec 29(UNI) Dr. Kuldip Maity, MD & CEO of VFS was adjudged as the “Champion of Change” by a high profile Selection Committee headed by former Chief Justice of India and Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of India K G Balakrishnan for his exemplary work in the 150 most aspirational Districts of India.
The awardees across the country were selected by a distinguished committee comprised of prominent personalities from various fields like former Supreme court justice Gyan Sudha Mishra, senior journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik, Veteran film maker Subhash Ghai, Pahlaj Nihlani, S.Y Quaraishi , the Former Chief Election Commissioner, and Padma Vibhusan Sonal Mansingh.
Jury members looked at the development rankings of Aspirational Districts, studied the factors of change, and those responsible for it. The contributions were evaluated on health & nutrition, education, agriculture, water resources, financial inclusion, skill development and infrastructure.
The committee selected Dr. Kuldip Maity’s name for 'Champions of Change Award' considering his contribution in financial inclusion and development ranking in 'Aspirational Districts'.
The honour was bestowed on him on 26thDecember 2018 by honorable Vice President of India Mr. Venkaiah Naidu at ‘Bigyan Bhawan’, Delhi.
