VA TECH WABAG secures Rs 600 cr order in Tunisia

Mumbai, Nov 14 (UNI)VA TECH WABAG LIMITED (WABAG), India's leading pure play water technology Company has secured Rs 600 crore worth order from Societe Nationale D'exploitation Et De Distribution Des Eaux, Tunisia towards engineering, supply and construction of a Sea Water Desalination plant of capacity 50 MLD in Tunisia.
The project is a Design, Build and Operate (DBO) contract from SONEDE, funded by KFW Germany towards engineering, supply and construction of a 50 MLD Sea Water Desalination plant expandable up-to 100 MLD, using state-of-the-art sea water reverse osmosis with energy recovery system.
The project also includes supply and installation of systems for sea water intake and brine discharge, execution of a treated water reservoir along with transfer pumping station, execution of HV/MV substation, roads and utility service works. The project is scheduled to be completed within a period of 27 months followed by a 12 month O&M period.
Commenting on this order, Mr Rajiv Mittal, Managing Director and Group CEO said, ''This new order win in Tunisia, amidst strong international competition, gives us immense pride and happiness. This is a testament to WABAG's strong track record, knowhow and global competitiveness in desalination. This plant when completed, will play a significant role in meeting the water demand for Tunisia.''
