UP BJP MLA thrashes forest SI

Ballia, Oct 6 (UNI) BJP MLA from Bairiya Assembly constituency in Ballia, Surendra Singh, once again came to limelight when he and his aides allegedly assaulted a forest sub-inspector, who were collecting taxes from trucks carrying red sand after mining from the local river.
The incident took place last night and the victim was admitted in district hospital. Interestingly while the DFO, NK Singh, said to be investigating the matter, the MLA alleged that the Forest officials were engaged in extorting money through illegal mining. Surendra Singh also sat on dharna in front of Forest Office demanding action against the guilty forest officials.
It may be mentioned that Surendra Singh was in news recently for holding a 7-kilometre long human chain to protest against his own Yogi Adityanath Government for not utilising the fund sanctioned for relief to flood victims.
