Kolkata, August 18 (UNI) The Special Task Force of West Bengal police have arrested two suspected members of terrorist outfit Al Qaeda in
the Indian-Subcontinent (AQIS) from North 24 Parganas district, a
senior officer said.
Abdur Rakib Sarkar and Kazi Ahasan Ullah were nabbed from at Kharibari
under Sashan police station's jurisdiction on Wednesday night.
"Both of them are active members of (AQIS," the officer said.
Abdur Rakib Sarkar is a resident of Gangarampur of South Dinajpur
district. Kazi Ahasan Ullah hails from Hooghly district's Arambagh,
but is now settled at Topsia in East Kolkata.
Documents preaching highly radical doctrines, indicative of waging war against India, have been seized from their possession, the sources
said.
According to the officer, following interrogation, the names of 17 other AQIS members active in the region have come to the knowledge of the police.
