Two rival groups clash during Panchayat Samiti election in Thane, police use force to quell them

Thane, Dec 13 (UNI) The Thane Police on Wednesday used force to quell two groups of rivals who clashed with each other outside a polling booth in Kalher of Bhiwandi during the Panchayat Samiti election.
An offence under sections 143, 146, 147, 149, 323, 188, 504,and 506 and of section 37(1)(3) of Maharashtra Police Act has been registered with the Narpoli Police station under Bhiwandi division, police said.
Deepak Krishna Mhatre, a Shiv Sena candidate, in the police complaint stated that when he went to the polling booth in Kalher, he saw the activists of BJP, led by Yogesh Patil, in the booth and as he brought this to attention of police who told the BJP activists to get out of the booth, annoyed BJP activists allegedly manhandled
