Two get 5 yrs RI for not saving life of seriously injured auto driver

Thane, Jan 29 (UNI) Two autorickshaw owners-cum- drivers from Mohanegaon of Kalyan have been sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment by the district court here for not saving the life of an auto driver who had met with a road accident in the year 2016.
Additional public prosecutor Sandhya Mhatre told the court that on April 16, 2016 the deceased, Anand alias Anil Dagadu Randive, had taken the auto- rickshaw of accused Sunil Ramesh Kot (37) but did not return the same on that day.
Two days later on April 18, while he and another accused Swapnil Narayan Kot (31) were searching for the missing auto, they learned that the deceased had met with an accident on the road heading towards Koparkhairne in Navi Mumbai and had suffered serious injuries to his legs, hands and body.
