TTD sets new records in last two days

Tirupati, May 30 (UNI) With an unprecedented pilgrim crowd becoming a common factor from the past ten days, the temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has set a new record in providing amenities to the scores of visiting pilgrims in various areas.
Especially on Sunday remained as a Red Letter Day in the history of TTD as a record number over one lakh pilgrims were provided darshan on a single day. Out of the 1,03,384 who had darshan on Sunday, over 47,000 pilgrims were Divyadarshan pilgrims, 30,000 odd Sarvadarshan pilgrims and 16 thousand plus comprised of pratyeka pravesha darshan pilgrims while the rest included arjitha seva ticket holders, privileged darshan category, Angapradakshina and others, TTD sources said.
While on Saturday, the Kalyanakatta tonsuring area recorded highest number of tonsures for this year so far with the figures recording 69, 370 while on Sunday the figures stood at 49,362.
