TRS Parliamentary Party leader to be announced by CM today

Hyderabad, Jun 13 (UNI) Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is expected to announce the name of the leader of the TRS Parliamentary Party here on Thursday.

During the TRS Parliamentary Party meeting slated to be held at Pragathi Bhavan. the Chief Minister's camp office-cum-residence here at 1400 hours, Mr Rao may announce the name of new Parliamentary Party leader.

The meeting will discuss the party's strategy to be adopted in the Parliament session commencing from June 17.

There is hectic speculation as to who will be the leader of the TRS Parliamentary Party.

The TRS had won nine of the 17 seats in the recent Lok Sabha election, while its strength in the Upper House (Rajya Sabha) is six.

Mr.Jitender Reddy who was the TRS leader in the previous Lok Sabha had quit the TRS after he was denied the party ticket and joined the BJP.

Mr B Vinod Kumar who was the Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha was defeated in the recent election, while Ms. K Kavitha,daughter of Mr Rao, also had to face defeat from the Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency.
