Agartala, Nov 23 (UNI) The council of ministers in a meeting yesterday decided to extend die-in-harness benefit to the family of government servants who die during service life besides, implementing the die-in-harness scheme of central government.
According to the decision, if any in service candidate died between the age of 50 and 60 years and if the family doesn’t have any government servant, the exact amount of salary of that employee would be disbursed to the survivors until his or her age of retirement, which was only a onetime payment of ex-gratia of Rs one lakh.
Besides, the government has reserved 15 per cent post of vacancies in the same department kept reserved for die-in-harness cases. If within one year, the eligible survivor of the deceased employee doesn’t get job in the same department, they would be allowed to seek job in other department based on their qualification on priority basis.
