Agartala, Nov 18 (UNI) Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has demanded judicial inquiry into the expenditure incurred for hosting 6th edition of North East Youth Festival-2018 concluded here today.
TPCC president Birjit Sinha alleged that central government has funded Rs 3.75 crore for organizing the event but a large amount of money was looted away by a section of officers, who are hand in gloves with party leaders leading to the total mismanagement.
Sinha alleged, there was a schedule of participation of about 1,200 delegates from other states of northeast and accordingly the expenditure has been booked but finally only 629 delegates turned up. As a result, about 50 per cent of the sanctioned money has been siphoned off by a group of officers and BJP leaders led by officials of Sports and Youth Affairs.
