Tripura CM launched paddy procurement by FCI

Ambassa, Dec 15(UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb launched the procurement of paddy by Food Corporation of India (FCI) in Minimum Support Price(MSP) for the whole state in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai here this afternoon.
From today, the procurement of paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs1750 per quintal has been launched in the state. The CM was present along with Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare (AFW) Minister Pranajit Singharoy and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Manoj Kanti Deb in what can be called a remarkable moment for the farmers of the state.
Presenting a beautiful vista for coming days, the CM has said, "A country like India can be powerful and self-sufficient only when the peasantry becomes strong and economically stable. And only then, the dream of our Prime Minister of making India a world leader by 2030 can be materialized. But it is a matter of regret that the erstwhile leftist government in the state has just used the peasantry for lengthening their rallies. Now we want every peasant to be self-esteemed and self-sufficient. For that, we have started the procurement by FCI in MSP. We want that every farmer should live with pride and honour. The aim of development is closely connected with highways. This year the Union government has sanctioned 3,000 crore for two highways one of which will go through Kamalpur and another will pass touching the town. The womenfolk has a considerable part to play in development. Hence empowerment is must. In nine months, we have taken down the incidents of rape and violence to 20% and 12% less and conviction rate has grown up to 85%. In coming days, Tripura is going to the IT hub and logistics hub for the entire north-eastern region. And our efforts will be successful with your cooperation".
