Tripura BSF renames BOP after slain commandant

Agartala, Jan 6 (UNI) The BSF Tripura Frontier dedicated a border outpost in the name of a commanding officer who was brutally killed at the border by Bangladeshi miscreants in Oct 2017 when he was leading an anti-smuggling operation in Sonamura of West Tripura.
The Officiating IG of BSF Tripura Ashok Kumar Yadav today unveiled the Statue of Late Dipak Mandal, Commandant of 145 battalion BSF to commemorate the contribution of Mandal for his supreme sacrifice for the country. The BSF also renamed Belardeppa BOP of western border of the state to Dipak Ex 145 Bn BSF.
Besides, top officials of BSF Tripura frontier a large number of local crowds were attended the function, BSF said, adding that this is for the first time BSF in northeast dedicated any BOP after the name of slain officer.
